By unusual, I mean outside the Gospels. Here are ten passages that rarely get preached on at Christmastime, but are appropriate nevertheless.
1. Philippians 2:5-11 (Jesus humbled himself)
2. Colossians 1:15-20 (Jesus, the Image of the invisible God)
3. Isaiah 9:1-7 (What Child is This?)
4. Job 42 (God Comes to Job)
5. Malachi 4:1-3 (The Rising of the Sun of Righteousness)
6. 1 Timothy 1:12-17 (Why Did Christ Come?)
7. 1 John 3:1-10 (Why Did Christ Come?)
8. Isaiah 60 (Shine! For Your Light Has Come!)
9. Hebrews 1 (God Has Spoken)
10. Micah 5:2-5 (The Ruler from Bethlehem)

I would add Galatians 4:4-5…
“in the fullness of time, God sent forth a Son…”
