Lean on Me

I know this song has been out almost a decade, but I still love it… especially the line “Tell me how can I love Jesus when I’ve never seen his face, yet I see you dying and I turn and walk away?”

Where else can you hear Kirk Franklin, Crystal Lewis, Mary J. Blige, Bono, and R. Kelly in one place?

  1. I wonder if Bono, Mary J. and R. Kelly are Christians. Although they are involved with good causes (notably Bono and his AIDS activities), they don’t strike me as disciples of Christ.

  2. What strikes me most about this song, was the deep feeling and the true meaning of the words.

It is not just knowing the singer or all the choir members name performing ‘just a’ song. The main focus to me as the listener, was our Christian duty of being Christ-like to all people we know and strangers we met every day.

Our duty of not turning away but in His likeness -showing the way of encouragment, uplifing, and let the people we meet – God gives second chances when we accept, believe and trust in His will for us.

To repeat the line ‘How can I love Jesus’ is easy to answer. It is easy when we point someone else into His Family.
