That “Understanding the Times” article…ooo boy. I have some serious problems with some of the emerging churches’ theology, but I’ll defend even Brian McLaren against some of the wacky things hostile critics have thrown out there.
A few buddies at my church went to a seminar recently by Doug Addison, and part of his message was: “Hi, I’m a Christian. Can we be friends?” It’s sad that you actually have to preach on the idea of being a friendly Christian like it’s foreign to some people.
