Chris' comment seems to imply this, but searching for "The Books of the Bible" on Amazon yields about 1000000 hits -- they might as well have called the book "a" and I can't find an ISBN anywhere.I'm actually looking for the "dead tree" version. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that Zondervan was offering an e-version of a small PORTION of the book for a dollar more than the COMPLETE physical book. I've never before seen an e-book that was more expensive than it's physical counterpart, let alone excessively so. I'm guessing Z hasn't been in the e-book business very long (nor will they be).

Is this available anywhere other than directly from IBS? I agree that I do not use it for my study time (ESV is preferred), but I travel a lot and use a kindle reader for my book collection (easy to travel with numerous books). I started reading the ESV on my travels and found it hard to do using a book reader. The Gospel of Luke felt disjointed. I downloaded The Books of the Bible for the Kindle and found that the reading of Luke, then Acts flowed very well, could follow the progression more easily in book reader format, and was thoroughly enjoyable.Chris

Trevin

I also purchased a few copies of this Bible (most to give away) and reviewed it on my site. I'm reading/reviewing Scot McKinght's 'Blue Parakeet' right now, and just got through a discussion about how verses and chapters affect and limit how we read the Bible, tending to make us take it in little segments and miss the bigger story and context. Though of cource verses are helpful in reference and study, a Bible like 'The Books of the Bible' seems like it would be far better to actually read (which after all seems like what the Bible was intended for to start with).

Trevin,
Although I usually am a bit cynical about the wide variety of niche Bibles, I must admit you’ve peaked my interest with this one.
I’m reading/reviewing Scot McKinght’s ‘Blue Parakeet’ right now, and just got through a discussion about how verses and chapters affect and limit how we read the Bible, tending to make us take it in little segments and miss the bigger story and context.
Though of cource verses are helpful in reference and study, a Bible like ‘The Books of the Bible’ seems like it would be far better to actually read (which after all seems like what the Bible was intended for to start with).
